The Club participates in a number of galas and takes an active part in the local swimming scene. We intend to continue to enter galas in the Bradford & District and Airedale & Wharfedale Leagues as well as further afield in 2012. Please keep an eye on the noticeboard at the swimming pool for the list of galas that we intend to enter. We will be using the noticeboard as our primary means of communication for galas so please check on a regular basis. We stress that in no way is it compulsory that swimmers take part in galas; this is about giving those who want to the opportunity. We also stress that everyone can take part - these are not aimed at our fastest or most experienced swimmers but at every member of all levels and indeed all ages.
All galas have closing dates that are strictly enforced. Jenna has kindly agreed to co-ordinate all Club entries. The attached gala schedule sets out the Closing Dates for each gala by which date the form and payment must be given to Jenna so that she can put the entry in. Unfortunately we have no leeway with these dates. A few general thoughts:Please encourage your child to enter. There are bound to be nerves at first, but we know from experience that, once through ‘the pain barrier’ of the first one or two galas children really get a lot from these events
